Mission and goals of the organization

Our Vision for Gaelic language and culture in the HighlandsZ

As an organization, our mission is to promote and preserve the Gaelic language and culture within the community of the Highlands. We believe that by instilling a sense of pride and understanding of the Gaelic language through immersive activities and educational events, we can empower younger generations to carry on this rich linguistic heritage.

We aim to create a lasting impact by providing opportunities for children between the ages of 5 and 12 to engage with the Gaelic language through interactive workshops, storytelling sessions, and cultural celebrations. By creating a positive and welcoming environment, we foster a lifelong love for Gaelic among children and encourage them to embrace their cultural roots.

Our Journey to Gaelic Language and Culture Revival

Importance of Promoting Gaelic Language and Culture in the Highlands

Promoting and preserving the Gaelic language and culture in the Highlands is crucial for empowering future generations to connect with their heritage. By fostering the Gaelic language and culture among children between the ages of 5-12, we aim to create a lasting and meaningful relationship with our language and culture through Gaelic immersive and interactive activities. In doing so, we not only seek to enhance their knowledge of the Gaelic language but also appeal to the younger generations through social engagement.
Empowering Gaelic Language and Culture

Gaelic Language Classes:

Cultural Workshops:

Gaelic Immersion Events:

We offer Gaelic language classes specifically tailored for children in the age range of 5-12. Our experienced teachers provide engaging lessons that cover basic vocabulary, grammar, and simple conversations. These classes are designed to make learning Gaelic fun and interactive.

Our cultural workshops aim to introduce children to various aspects of Gaelic culture. Through activities such as storytelling sessions, traditional music and dance workshops, and art projects inspired by Gaelic mythology, we aim to create a deeper appreciation for Gaelic culture among young participants.

We organize immersion events where children can immerse themselves in the Gaelic language and culture. These events include Gaelic-speaking competitions, games, and scavenger hunts that encourage children to use Gaelic in real-life situations. By providing opportunities for children to use Gaelic in a practical setting, we aim to strengthen their language skills and boost their confidence.

Resources for Gaelic Language and Culture

Gaelic Immersion Events:

We offer a range of learning materials, including textbooks, workbooks, and audio resources, designed to introduce children to the Gaelic language and aid in their language development. Our materials incorporate fun activities and exercises that build vocabulary, grammar skills, and conversational fluency. Through these resources, children can learn essential everyday phrases, express their thoughts, and actively engage in Gaelic conversation.

In collaboration with local experts, we organize cultural workshops that introduce children to various aspects of Gaelic culture. These interactive sessions explore traditional music, dance, folklore, storytelling, and crafts to provide an immersive and educational experience. By actively participating in these workshops, children appreciate the richness of Gaelic culture and how it is intertwined with the language.

To further deepen children’s exposure to Gaelic, we host Gaelic immersion events that encourage the use of the language in real-life scenarios. From role-playing exercises to interactive games and group discussions, these events provide a supportive environment where children can practice their Gaelic communication skills while having fun. We believe that by creating meaningful connections between language learning and practical use, children will develop a genuine love for the Gaelic language.
